Advanced Academics
Use the following link for a comparison between ways to earn college credit while in high school. We currently offer AP and Dual Credit options.
Dual Credit
Wylie ISD has a cooperative partnership with Collin College that enables students to earn college credits while completing their requirements for high school graduation. A Dual Credit course is a course that counts for both high school and college credit at the same time. A passing grade is required for a student to gain credit. Passing standards for high school and college grades may differ.
Find helpful information, such as dates for registration, dropping, and withdrawing, on our dual credit program at Collin College Dual Credit Website or contact Natalie Nuss or Anna Waugh. If a student is considering dropping a dual credit course, they will need to reach out to their high school counselor as a withdrawal form will need to be processed through the dual credit office.
ACCESS FOR DUAL CREDIT STUDENTS WITH ACCOMMODATIONS
Students who receive 504 or IEP accommodations will need to work directly with the ACCESS office at Collin College for assistance with requesting services. It is the student's responsibility to provide necessary paperwork and request services from the ACCESS office: ACCESS Website
FERPA (FAMILY EDUCATIONAL RIGHTS AND PRIVACY ACT)
Collin will release information from a student's educational record only with the prior consent of the student. Consent can be updated by logging into the student's CougarWeb account.
GOOGLE CLASSROOM FOR DUAL CREDIT STUDENTS
All dual credit students must join the Google Classroom to get announcements, class changes, and important dates from the counseling office. This will be the PRIMARY form of communication during the school year and is used to relay important information.
